Welcome to the Office of Health Professions Advising!
The HPA office advises UNC – CH students on the many pathways to a health professional career and the various career options through facilitated professional programs, individualized meetings, and access to health professions information that encourages application of knowledge and experience. Students can make an appointment with health professions advisors virtually or in person (Health Sciences Library Suite #217B) by clicking the “Connect” tab above. We also encourage students to follow us on Instagram (@unc_hpa) and to join our HPA listserv to stay up-to-date on upcoming opportunities.

Our mission at the UNC Office of Health Professions Advising is to partner with students on their health professions journey, encouraging them to take ownership of their career pathway.
Through programs and individual support, we collaborate with students to foster self-directed learning; assist with goal setting and action plans; promote extracurricular and curricular growth; and celebrate achievement.

We empower students to become collaborative leaders in a rapidly changing healthcare landscape.

Who do I meet with to discuss course registration and scheduling?
HPA can advise on health program pre-requisites, but connect with Academic Advising for course and registration planning, declaring majors and minors, and exploring academic options!
Can I meet with a Health Professions Advisor as an incoming UNC student?
Currently, we do not meet with incoming students. However, we will see you at New Student Orientation and are excited to meet with you when you start at Carolina!
