Real-world experience in a healthcare setting is a great way to learn more about health careers, determine whether a particular path is right for you, and connect with mentors. Many hospitals, clinics, and healthcare non-profits are in need of enthusiastic volunteers. Depending on your path and past experience, you may also be able to find clinical experience. Taking a gap year is also a great way get an in-depth understanding of a specific field.
