Application

Most veterinary schools in the United States, and internationally, accept applications through the Veterinary Medical Colleges Application Service, VMCAS. This application should be submitted in the summer before your last year in college.

Extracurricular activities/experience

Experience working in a variety of veterinary settings is an essential part of your credentials. Most veterinary schools place emphasis on this activity and require at least one letter of evaluation from a veterinarian.

Note: NC State University Veterinary School does not interview applicants. Selection is based on applicants’ academic record, test scores, experience, and recommendations. It is essential to get good grades from the beginning.
